26/04/07: Tony and George
This is obviously in the style of Gilbert and George. It went a bit pear-shaped as they both actually end up looking like Carmen Miranda!? (Even more so before I replaced the bananas with missiles).

25/04/07: Last monkey Tea Party
This is not about Jesus. This is a picture taken during the last days of the Cult of the Blue Monkey. As you can see the glorious Blue Monkey leader has LOST PERSPECTIVE and grabbed all the big bananas for himself! Unlike this picture.

24/04/07: Mormon Voyager
This is what Mormons believe:
On the planet KOLOB, orbiting the star KAKISTOCRA, in the constellation of CANCER, God and his many wives have children, which are bodiless spiritual beings. When a child is born on Earth one of these spiritual beings inhabits them to become ‘a living soul’.
They actually believe a lot of weird stuff, but this is the most bizarre. I urge you to investigate further...

21/04/07: Zombi Werewolf 2
It's another horror movie!!! These werewolves are particularly bad because they only transform under a blood moon.
By the way, if you're thinking it doesn't look much like a werewolf that's because this is actually based on a photo that Kev took of a stuffed foxhead (dating from April 1913) that we found in the barn at the farm!!! TRUE!

19/04/07: My New Office Desk
This is the design for my new office desk as at the minute I'm working on a piece of MDF laid between two filing cabinets. I'm hoping to get it completed in about 2010. I've quoted myself an initial estimate of £200 for materials and labour, but the budget has already sky-rocketed to almost £1 billion! On a brighter note my exceptionally low quote to the London Olympics has been accepted, so I'll probably just bang in a bill for that of about £100 billion - EVERYBODY ELSE IS DOING IT!!!

18/04/07: The Prestige Visualator
Here is a copy of an early Camouka advert for a 'Prestige' Visualator, I found this in a 'Festival of Britain' programme dating from 1951. Note the earlier iteration of the Camouka eye, this replaced the 'Pyro' fella that by the 1950's was deemed 'too American' to represent a British company. This advert is the first mention I've found of "Smoking Monkeys" which are of course now widely available, but at the time were very rare!

16/04/07: Crazy Horses
There's a message floatin' in the air
Come from crazy horses ridin' everywhere
It's a warning, it's in every tongue
Gotta stop them crazy horses on the run
What a show, there they go smokin' up the sky, yeah
Crazy horses all got riders, and they're you and I
Crazy horses
(Alan Osmond, Wayne Osmond, Merrill Osmond)

13/04/07: Movie Poster for 'Random'
This movie comprises of 180 one minute sequences randomly selected from a pile of 360 sequences, stiched togther by the projectionist before each performance. One of the sequences is "The End" titling, so basically, when you go see this film you never know what's going to happen, nor if or when the movie will end! It may or may not tell the story of a random serial killer using either/or a combination of flash-backs/flash-forwards/present-time.

11/04/07: Return to Button Moon
Just suppose Mr Spoon had passed through some sort of time vortex and arrived at a future version of Button Moon, one where Button Moon was now RULED BY FORKS! I've added Freddie Teddie in as the Statue of Liberty as originally I was going with the "Oh my God...you blew it up..." speech.

10/04/07: Cilice Bang
Isn't corporal mortification a wonderful thing? Brings you closer to God and all that.
As the Rev. Michael Geisler, spiritual director of Opus Dei in St. Louis says "Self-denial helps a person overcome both psychological and physical weakness, gives him energy, helps him grow in virtue and ultimately leads to salvation. It conquers the insidious demons of softness, pessimism and lukewarm faith that dominate the lives of so many today".
Then again, I found this information about self-harmers on the BBC Health website:
"Self-harm is almost always a symptom of another underlying problem... it may also be necessary to look at and treat other problems. This could involve anything from medication to psychodynamic therapy."
AND:
"There are different theories as to why people self-mutilate. One is that because victims of childhood sexual abuse were forbidden to reveal the truth about their abuse, they use self-mutilation or self-cutting to express the horror of their abuse to the world."
AND ALSO THIS:
"Another theory for self-cutting is that it triggers release of the body's natural opiate-like chemicals to reduce the pain. Perhaps self-cutters have become addicted to their body's heroin-like reaction...which is why they do it again and again. Drugs used to treat heroin addicts may be helpful...for those who describe a 'high' after they've cut themselves."

09/04/07: Extraordinary Holidays
This picture is supposed to make the point that we are not one of those crappy tinpot countries where it's citizens can be forcibly removed in the dead of night by THEIR OWN security services, and then held WITHOUT CHARGE and without reference to their HUMAN RIGHTS or THE GENEVA CONVENTION, but now with added TORTURE. No, wait a moment - that does happen here! I guess it's ok though 'cos they only do it to guilty terrorists right? RIGHT?
Anyway, I hear that the Gulfstream V Turbo is a very luxurious and comfortable ride so what's the problem?

06/04/07: Gravy Shortfall
This is based on a Milton Glaser picture of Bob Dylan. Gordon Brown seems to have raided pension funds to the tune of £75 BILLION! Legally. I've knotted the 75 billion into his hair to indicate where it now resides, but there are probably too many noughts. I'm not sure if we are talking about a nice healthy British billion (a million times a million) or a measly US one (a thousand times a million). Just imagine that.
